Harpenden RFC 4th XV - The Mighty Fourths
Welcome to the home of the 'Mighty Fourths'
Formed in 2009 under the guiding eye of Guy 'No Drama' Richardson, the Harpenden RFC 4th team was born to provide rugby for the burgeoning group of players, both new and old, that needed that little extra adrenaline rush!
Starting life with a 60-0 drubbing by Fullerians with 13 players, the team finished its season on a high losing in sudden death, extra-time in the Final of the Merit Table Plate Competition to Old Millhillians '2nd' XV. We were surprised to see that most of their first team had been dropped to the 2nd's for that week!!!!
Moving on a season and The HRFC Mighty 4ths Have just been crowned WINNERS of the Herts / Middx Merit Table 7 Knockout Cup and runners up in the league- Now promoted to Merit Table 6 for the 2011/12 season!
We don't take life too seriously (Nitin's warm-ups and Tony's try-scoring celebrations are testimony to that). Our average age is hovering around the 40 mark but we encourage both young and old alike! The natural starting point and introduction to Senior Rugby for our juniors, our aim is to develop the stars of the future and to quickly pass on the 'tricks of the trade' from the 'elders' of the side.
We train every Thursday at 'The Field of Dreams' in Redbourn Lane, at 7.30pm, along with the rest of the Senior sides at the club. Failing that you can find us in the bar by about 915pm!
The team now plays in the Herts/Middlesex Merit Table, Division6
